Last year, Kia started building its dedicated electric commercial vehicle range with the PV5. The company has now added a much larger model to this family with the PV7. Revealed at IAA Transportation 2026, the new electric van is available in Passenger and Cargo versions. It is 5.35 metres long and offers two battery options, with the larger 96.2kWh pack giving the Cargo version a claimed range of more than 460km under the WLTP cycle.
The PV7 has been designed for both business and passenger use. Depending on the market, the Passenger version can carry up to nine people globally and up to 11 people in Korea. The Cargo version, on the other hand, is built for carrying goods and can take up to 1,200kg of payload.
Dimensions And Space
The PV7 uses Kia’s E-GMP.S platform, which has been developed for its PBV range. The van gets a flat-floor layout and a 3,500mm wheelbase. At 5,350mm long, it is considerably larger than the PV5.

The Cargo model is available in Compact, Long and High Roof forms. The Long version offers up to 6.1 cubic metres of cargo space, while the High Roof version can provide up to 8.0 cubic metres.
The Passenger model gets more room for people and luggage. A seven-seat layout with removable seats is also available. The seats can be moved or removed to create more usable space when required.
Two Battery Options
Kia will offer the PV7 with 71.5kWh and 96.2kWh battery packs. The van uses a front-mounted electric motor with up to 200kW, or 272PS, and 420Nm.

The PV7 uses an 800V electrical system. With a 350kW DC charger, Kia says the battery can go from 10 to 80 percent in the mid-20-minute range. It also gets two charging ports. One is positioned at the front and supports AC and DC charging, while the rear port supports AC charging.
Built For Different Jobs
Kia is planning a large number of PV7 versions. The company says there will be 23 variants over time, covering different body styles and conversions.
For businesses, the van can be used for deliveries, logistics, shuttle services and other fleet work. Kia will also offer fleet management and connected services to help operators keep track of their vehicles.
The Cargo version gets up to three seats and can carry up to 1,200kg depending on the version. It also has a low loading height of 550mm on the Long model.
Cabin And Technology
The cabin has a more modern layout than a typical commercial van. It gets a digital driver display and a large 14.6-inch infotainment screen with Kia’s Pleos Connect system. The system supports connected features, Gleo AI voice assistance and over-the-air updates. Key points –

The Passenger version also gets ambient lighting, extra storage areas and removable seats for greater flexibility. Rear passengers also get 100W USB-C charging ports.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags and a range of driver assistance systems. These include lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance and parking assistance.
Kia PV7 Launch Plans
Kia plans to launch the PV7 in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2027. Other markets will be added later. An all-wheel-drive version is also planned after the initial launch.
The PV7 gives Kia a much larger electric van for customers who need more space than the PV5. With several battery choices, different body versions and a long list of planned derivatives, it could become an important part of Kia’s commercial EV range.
