Honda PCX150 Could be Headed to India

We keep repeating that Honda has become really serious for its Indian innings. The Activa has done a world of good to the Indian operations of Japanese. The Dream Yuga too has been giving a tough time to the popular rivals from Hero MotoCorp and now it has emerged that the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese bike maker is planning to launch a maxi scooter in Indian market.

It is being guessed that Honda might bring the PCX150 to India. The Honda PCX150 is powered by a 152cc liquid cooled-fuel injected four stroke engine that pumps out a peak power output of 13.5 Bhp and a peak torque rating of 14 Nm. The PCX150 comes equipped with telescopic shock absorbers and a front disc brake.

The Honda PCX150 sports a CVT transmission and Honda claims a fuel economy of 43 Kmpl. The PCX150 tips the scale at 130kgs, which is quite light for a 150cc maxi-scooter.

The Honda PCX150 India launch could be scheduled for mid 2013 and the maxi scoot will come with a price tag of around INR 75k.

  1. just spoke to Honda India and they have no plans about this scooter for India as of now they says all this are just rumors and not to trust instead tells keep checking the official website for upcoming models

  2. I have wanted companies to launch maxi scooters for a long time now. They make complete sense for office going commuters specially people who are in Sales and Marketing. They combine the power of a motorcycle with the comfort of a scooter. If marketed properly and priced in sync with the trends, this product will manage itself a very decent number of niche customers. But history shows that Kinectic Blade, which was also of the same kinds, floped big time. But that was Kinetic and this is Honda. Next in line HOT ROD Scooters such as the Ital Design Dragster. If this lands on the indian shores, Honda will surely have the first mover advantage.
