The Honda Brio has been around for quite a while now, and sometime next year it should go under the scalpel for a mild face-lift. Autonetmagz.net have already come up with a possible rendering of the same, which shows the Brio gaining a new dog-bone style grille, like on the Vezel, blacked out A and B pillars and a set of sportier bumpers and skirts thrown in from the Mobilio RS.
The wheels have been retained from the Brio Concept. The updated Brio will carry the same 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine producing 86.8 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 109 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, although it goes to bee seen if Honda India decides to plonk the i-DTEC diesel from the Amaze to increase its appeal and eventually reach out to the disel loving audience.
I dont think iDtec 1.5 is of any use in this car. It would be too much of power and at a cost. Instead Honda can develop a new 3 pot idtec from 4 pot 1.5. It should have enoigh pep for this light car and amazing fuel economy. 30 kmpl would not be too high expectation. That said, they will have a lot of work on already crude engine to bottom out NVH.
