Honda Brio Amaze Spotted at Mysore dealership. April 11 Launch

The Honda Brio Amaze entry level sedan and the Ford EcoSport compact SUV have to be the most awaited launch in the Indian car market today. While the EcoSport might not come to us before June this year, Honda is looking all set to take a plunge into the highly competitive entry level C segment by launching the Amaze on April 11.

The Honda Brio hatchback based sedan measures less than 4 metres in length and will make life a lot tougher for cars like the Swift Dzire and the Indigo eCS. We recently reported that while a section of Indian automobile journalists recently drove the car, we don’t have many pics of the India spec Amaze. Now, what we have here today are exclusive images of the Honda Brio Amaze sedans that have been spotted at the Mysore dealership.

Our friend who spotted these cars reports that the red colour option on the Brio Amaze, the Red Pearl, is the same as the one offered on the Honda City. He also says that the Blue colour option might not get many takers.

On the inside, the Amaze will be strikingly similar to the Brio hatchback and the two cars will be seen sharing majority of the parts. It has also come to light that the leg space for rear passengers is considerably higher than that on offer in the hatchback. This is due to the longer wheelbase that the Amaze has.

The top end variant will come loaded with features like dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, steering mounted audio controls, beige upholstery and integrated headrests to keep costs low.

Powering the Honda Brio Amaze will be a 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine and a 1.5-liter i-DTEC oil burner. The petrol mill has a max power output of 90 PS and peak torque figure of 110Nm. The oil burner on duty has a max power figure of 100PS and a peak torque figure of 200Nm. This makes the car much more powerful than the high selling Swift Dzire.

The car is only 26kg heavier than its hatchback sibling and hence, would deliver fantastic fuel efficiency. We are expecting an ARAI fuel efficiency figure of 23-24kmpl for the diesel engine.

Thanks to the excise duty relaxations and fast dropping market share, expect Honda to price the Amaze amazingly well in the Indian car market.
