Honda recently began a campaign for their upcoming crossover, the BR-V. The Japan based automobile manufacturer had started releasing teasers of their upcoming crossover prior to its launch. After making its debut at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi earlier this year, Honda is now all set to launch the BR-V on the 5th of May.
Bookings for the BR-V have commenced and potential customers can now book their model for an amount of Rs. 21,000. The BR-V is based on the same platform that underpins the Mobilio, Brio and the Amaze. Confirmed to be powering the BR-V will be the 1.5 litre iDTEC engine while a 1.5 litre petrol engine sourced from the Honda city is also expected to be on the cards. The 1.5 litre diesel engine is said to produce a power output of 100 PS while the peak torque will stand at 200 Nm.
Transmission duties on the BR-V are expected to be taken care of by a 6 speed manual transmission for both the mills while the petrol mill is likely to receive the CVT gearbox as an optional feature. The top end variant of the BR-V is expected to be laden with safety features considering the fact that the crossover received a 5 star rating at the ASEAN NCAP crash test.

The company has already begun production for the BR-V that currently takes place at the company’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.
