Recently, Honda Motor Scooter India (HMSI) was seen overtaking Bajaj to claim the second spot in the sales chart of Indian biking market. It seems like the popular bike manufacturer is all set to get more aggressive with its Indian operations. News has emerged that the manufacturer will be soon seen moving its R&D facility from Gurgaon to its Manesar plant. This is not all as HMSI plans to double the engineers to 200-300 at the R&D dept. once the new facility is functional at Manesar. The Manesar R&D facility should be ready within next 6 months.

Also wish they have a stronger QC department…looking at their new expensive proposition i.e. the CBR150R….seems like they still haven’t learnt from their mistakes.
These guys came to india 20Years back in collaboration with Hero groups for R&D and finally came out with scooter, thou they are leaders in motorcycles.Their maximum profits come from selling scooters. I wish they learn lesson hard way like Yammies did in India. Its a shame for company like this to not invest in 400CC or 600CC segment and keep relying on market profits thru scooter sales. Their service started to suck because people believe their quality during buying and not after that.
These guys should not invest in RnD.. But invest in manufacturin facility to manufacture bigger bikes.. Its high time that they have bigger bikes, should look at harley..
