Pune based Autologue Designs have built the one-off Gambit, a Bajaj Pulsar 180 based scrambler that certainly looks the part. Built for a Siliguri (north of West Bengal) based client, the Gambit features completely new bodywork including a custom tank, fresh panels and mudguards.
The tank is rather unique-Â a classic teardrop shape with punched in, concave sides with Gambit lettering in period typography. The new side panels feature minimal curves and are custom painted in a lustrous shade of yellow with white highlights, along with the tank. There’s a new scrambler-perfect, ribbed seat that looks accommodating enough for a solo rider- girlfriends be damned. Also, the Pulsar’s rear footrest mountings have been sawed in half. The rear is even more minimalist, with a lone, round tail lamp being the only cherry.
Up front, a classic round headlamp sits pretty along with some after-market, contemporary indicators spoiling the retro theme. There’s also a smaller- presumably louder exhaust and a new, custom under-body cowl to prevent those stone chips from creating havoc. Being a scrambler with some rough road credo, one gets a couple of knobby tires wrapped around the stock Pulsar alloys. Mechanically, the Gambit continues unchanged from the Bajaj Pulsar 180.
