Fiat 500 America Edition becomes the first car to be sold on Twitter.com

The world is surely going bizarre by the day. The Italian auto manufacturer Fiat unveiled the 500 America earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Fiat 500 America is a limited edition with only 500 saloon and 500 convertible versions to be produced.  The Saloon version of the 500 America will be offered in exclusive metallic America Blue paint job and mirror covers with “Stars & Stripes” graphics, stickers, dedicated beltline and 16″ alloy rims with red cap edge. On the inside, the car gets red/ivory seats and contrasting white dashboard. Now the strange part is here- the car has been put on sale in Europe!! We wonder if the guys at New England consider Europe to be ‘Old America’.

Anyway, the above news is nothing new. What is new is the fact that popular website Twitter.com recently became a platform to sell cars!! Surprised? So are we. Fiat recently made use of Twitter for bidding for the sale of the 500 America Edition in an auction. The winner of the first of its kind auction was announced to be “Adelheid D. Kieper” (@KanzleiKieper) who had made a bid of 15,165 euros.

We wonder what is next?
