Casey Stoner to leave Ducati for Repsol Honda for 2011?

After Casey Stoner’s lackluster performance with Ducati this season, rumors are red hot about a possible Repsol Honda switch for the Australian rider. In fact, there have been reports that Honda will pay as much as five million Euros to Casey if he leaves Ducati for Repsol Honda. Adding fuel to the fire is GPWeek’s report which claims that Casey Stoner’s mechanics in the Marlboro Ducati garage have been given a notice that “they may have to seek new employment for next season.” If these reports hold value, then Casey Stoner is definitely making a switch for 2011 and the Repsol Honda team sounds like a definite alternative. Stoner’s previous stint with Hondas in the premiere class wasn’t too fruitful for him, however, the presence of Livio Supo (formerly with Ducati) might make all the difference this time around. So if Stoner does make a switch, then who will fill the vacant seat at Marlboro Ducati? Rossi? Pedrosa? Your guess is as good as ours. Drop in your comments at the end of this post…
