BMW S1000RR is the International Bike of the Year 2010-11

BMW S1000RR has won the coveted International Bike of The Year award 2010-2011. The S1000RR which has wreaked havoc among the Japanese sports bike makers by vanquishing their litre class bikes substantially has won the title with a massive with 57 points. Ducati Multistrada 1200S with 33 points is the runner up with a massive 24 point gap.

The International Bike of the Year award is in its 26th year now. The Award is given collectively by a jury comprising journalists from across the world. This year, as many as 14 magazines from around the world participated in the awards and almost unanimously gave the top honours to the S1000RR.

While the Multistrada still managed a double digit score, the tied second runner ups (Honda VFR 1200F DCT and Yamaha XTZ1200 Super Tenere) couldn’t manage any more than 9 points. It’s notable that India’s Autocar India was also a part of the Awards jury.
