BMW India has been launching quite a lot of limited edition models lately. First, we saw the introduction of the 3 Series Gran Limousine Iconic Edition which was then followed by the 5 Series Carbon Edition. Now, BMW has launched the 2 Series Gran Coupe Black Shadow edition at ₹43.50 lakh. This limited edition variant is locally produced at BMW’s plant in Chennai and it is limited to only 24 units. What’s new?
The black shadow edition is based on the 220i M Sport trim. It gets a high-gloss shadow line package with BMW M performance parts. It also gets a high-gloss black mesh-style M front grille and black exterior mirror caps. The rear gets an M performance spoiler in high gloss black paint and black chrome tailpipes. The wheels are 18-inch M Performance wheels painted in jet black matte paint. The hub caps of the wheels are floating in nature which keeps the BMW logo in level at all times when the wheels are on the move. It is available in two colours, namely Alpine White and Black Sapphire.

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe: a quick recap
It has two large display screens, one for the instrument cluster which is a 12.3-inch unit, and the other for the infotainment system which happens to be a 10.25-inch one. The 2 Series also features ambient lighting, wireless charging, rear AC vents, sports seats with electric memory function, panoramic glass roof, 40:20:40 split rear seats, and a host of safety bits like six airbags, ABS with brake assist, traction control, cornering brake control, dynamic stability control, and an electric parking brake with auto hold.
It gets an M badge on the seats, steering, and gear lever. Mechanically speaking, it is powered by a 2.0L, 4 cyl TwinPower Turbo petrol oil burner which puts out 190BHP of peak power and 280Nm of peak torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and gets paddle shifters, with a 0-100 time of 7.1 seconds.
