Audi Q6 e-tron Electric SUV Technical Details Revealed

We reported when Audi released a teaser for the upcoming all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV. The Audi Q6 is slated to be launched sometime in the year 2018 and now we have some details about the SUV.

According to a report, the Q6 e-tron will be competing direcly with the Tesla Model X and could feature a battery pack with a capacity of 100 kWh. Initially, the Ingolstadt based carmaker will be offering the SUV in two configurations: 300 bhp (223 kW) & 332 lb-ft (449 Nm) and 400 bhp (299 kW) & 479 lb-ft (649 Nm). Both the variants will be providing a maximum range of close to 200 miles (322 km). The Q6 E-tron would be available purely with electric 4wd.

The interesting part of the report is that it also mentions that Audi is also considering a more hotter “RS-spec” version which will provide as much as 500 bhp (373 kW) and 553 lb-ft (749 Nm). This variant will probably be launched towards the end of the decade. For the records, the upcoming Tesla Model X SUV Model X will be available with the battery options of 60 kWh and 85 kWh versions with 380 HP and a top-of-the-line 85 kWh Performance version developing a whopping 691 HP. The Model X is likely to debut before the end of the year, offering “the space and functionality of a sport utility vehicle”, combined with “seating for seven adults and the uncompromised performance of an electric car”.

The Audi Q6 e-tron will based on the same MLB platform as the next-gen Q5 and will be assembled in an existing factory.
