On the launch of the all new Maruti Alto 800, nation’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd put to rest a few doubts that many had in their mind. As we had been speculating, the new car replaces the old Alto F8, which was on sale since last 12 years. Performance enthusiasts, however, will be delighted about the fact that the very energetic Alto K10 will remain on sale

Another news that might come across as a relief to many is that the Alto K10 won’t acquire the ‘love it or hate it’ styling of the Alto 800. Click here for Design Commentary on new Alto 800.
What comes across as a real surprise is that our 800, which has been in market since 3 decades and is generations older to the outgoing Alto F8, will continue to be on sale at the export markets and at smaller Indian cities where BS3 emission norms have not been replaced by the stricter BS4 emission norms.
The car maker has already received 10,000 bookings for the Alto 800 and is also betting big on the export market.
