2012 BMW M5 Officially Unveiled

BMW has officially unveiled the 2012 edition of their power packed M5.


You will find the 2012 edition of the M5 to be more aggressive looking than the previous edition. There are new aerodynamic sports side skirts, a simple yet sporty rear diffuser, unique grille with black slates, front fender vents, adaptive xenon lights with LED ring, four tailpipe exhaust system and finally the icing is the 19” alloys.


Inside the 2012 M5 you will find Merino leather high quality sport seats, a new instrument cluster and a M steering wheel with two buttons which offer pre-selected engine, transmissions and suspension setup at the press of your finger. The M5 also comes loaded with night vision with pedestrian recognition technology, a lane change warning system, surround view camera and internet connectivity.


Talking about the most important part which is the engine, the new M5 comes with twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 which is equipped with cross bank exhaust manifold which produces and amazing peak power of 560PS and a thundering torque of 680Nm. It is mated to the seven speed M-Double clutch transmission that gives the car a power rush with 0-100 comes in less than 4.4 seconds and 0-200 in not more than 13 seconds flat. It’s not just power hungry but it also returns a respectable fuel efficiency.


The M5 has electronically controlled dampers (with Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus modes), an M-specific Servotronic steering system, high-performance compound brakes and an Active M Differential. The rear differential “is connected with the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system, via FlexRay high-speed data transfer technology, and constantly cross-checks the data collected by its sensors with the feedback from DSC. It then uses this information to calculate the locking force required to deliver optimum traction and stability.
