Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced the launch of the S-CNG variant of the S-Presso. The S-Presso CNG introduces dual-fuel flexibility in the new S-CNG variant. The launch of Maruti Suzuki’s S-CNG vehicle range is aligned with and complements the Government of India’s vision of reducing oil imports and enhancing the share of natural gas in the country’s primary energy mix.

The powertrain of the new S-Presso S-CNG consists of a Next Gen K-series 1.0L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. The vehicle is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox and gives a fuel efficiency of 32.73 km/kg. Maruti Suzuki today has 10 S-CNG models on offer. All of them are fitted with dual-interdependent Electronic Control Units (ECU), an intelligent fuel injection system, stainless steel pipes, and joints, along with integrated wiring harnesses for the CNG system. The S-CNG system comes with a micro switch that ensures the engine is turned off and does not start during the CNG fuel-filling process.

The S-Presso S-CNG variant has a length of 3565 mm. The height of the LXI model is 1553 mm and the VXI is 1567 mm. The car has a width of 1520 mm and a wheelbase of 2380 mm. The Engine delivers a max power of 65.5 PS at 5500 rpm in the petrol mode and 56.69 PS at 5300 rpm in the CNG mode. It has a max torque of 89 Nm at 3500 rpm in petrol mode and 82.1 Nm at 3400 rpm in CNG mode. The S-Presso CNG is priced at Rs 5,90,000 for the LXI version and Rs 6,10,000 for the VXI version all ex-showroom prices.
