Following the acquisition of SsangYong, Peugeot Motorcycles and Pininfarina, Mahindra and Mahindra has successfully added one more brand to the list. After acquiring the legendary BSA brand last  month, the folks at Mahindra are prepping up their manufacturing units to roll out the first bikes by 2019. The Indian marquee is all set to relaunch the BSA brand worldwide and bring new middle-weight bikes to the market. With manufacturing facilities in India as well as France, Mahindra is also eyeing to set up a unit in the UK.

Mahindra looks well equipped to execute the relaunch and bring in new motorcycles. With Pininfarina by their side, the company is expected to spin out some attractive looking products. Officials confirmed that the design work has already commenced and as for initial plans, motorcycles displacing between 500 and 750cc will be made. This displacement segment will attend to the void in the market of single cylinder bikes of larger capacity.

They also mentioned that Mahindra owns the rights to the Gold Star name which suggests that the legendary bike may get a makeover soon. Recently, while interacting with MCN, Rajesh Jejurikar, President and CEO of Mahindra Two Wheelers said “We want to bring back the aura of BSA, while also bringing back a commitment to honest engineering. To achieve this we have Classic Legends [a subsidiary of Mahindra], which will allow us to move into the premium and niche segments.”
