Uncared For Aston Martin Rapide Somewhere in India is downright heartbreaking

Update : The images and specific details in this story have been removed owing to a request by the owner of the car

Most of us have been in a situation when we see a random vehicle rotting in full public view, much to the dismay of the enthusiast inside us. I for one, hate to see even the slightest layer of dirt on my automobiles, be it even the most simplest of the lot. Now, imagine my shock and horror if I were to see an exotic like an Aston Martin in an abandoned condition.

Well, one such example lives on (err, not quite) to tell its sorry tale through a set of images. Images of an abandoned Aston Martin Rapide shared by a reader show the deplorable condition of the four door super saloon, limited units of which made it to Indian shores.

Even though the model was wrapped in a cloth based cover, it seems to have been in this condition for about 3 months. The interiors of the INR 3.29 crore (ex-showroom) car have accumulated fungus all over the leather upholstery while the engine bay is filled with moss. Even the disc brakes have accumulated rust over a long period of time.

Moss aside, the Aston Martin Rapide seen here in the images runs on a 6.9-litre V12 petrol motor that produces a power output of 470 hp while the peak torque is rated at 601 Nm. This engine sends power to the rear wheels via a six speed automatic transmission. This power-train enables the Rapide to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 303 kmph.
