The Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 has become the first Indian electric motorcycle to receive global certification under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) regulations. This certification marks a major step in the brand’s journey, as the F77 MACH 2 is now set to launch in over 40 countries, including the competitive European market.
The F77 MACH 2, which is now approved for road use under the L3e category, will be available to A1 and A2 license holders across Europe. Priced at an introductory €9,990, the motorcycle is aimed at tapping into the global demand for high-performance electric motorcycles. Ultraviolette plans to expand its reach with initial shipments to Germany and Turkey, followed by a broader European rollout. The company will also showcase its product at the upcoming EICMA event in Milan, Italy, from November 5th to 10th.

A Landmark Achievement for Indian EVs
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-Founder of Ultraviolette, stated, “Achieving this international certification is a monumental moment for us, as it opens doors to a much larger global audience. This certification is not just a regulatory milestone, but a reflection of our relentless pursuit of world-class standards in design-led performance.”
The UNECE certification clears the path for the F77 MACH 2 to be sold in European countries, a first for an Indian electric motorcycle. This strategic expansion is a big move for Ultraviolette, entering the highly competitive European performance motorcycle market. With the European Union being a hub for motorcycle enthusiasts, this step signals the company’s intention to compete with established global players.
Government Endorsement and Expansion Plans
Ultraviolette’s export of the F77 MACH 2 has also received strong backing from government officials. The export to Europe was flagged off by Hon’ble Shri H.D. Kumaraswamy, Union Minister of Heavy Industries, and Hon’ble Shri M.B. Patil, Minister of Industries and Commerce, Karnataka. The latter lauded Ultraviolette as the ‘Tesla of India’, recognizing its pioneering role in the Indian electric vehicle sector.
With plans to showcase the F77 MACH 2 at EICMA 2024, Ultraviolette is positioning itself as a serious contender in the global electric mobility market. The company is confident that the F77 MACH 2 will resonate with European consumers, who prioritize innovation, performance, and environmental consciousness.
