Piaggio has decided to discontinue the Aprilia Storm 125 from its lineup in India. The decision was made after reports of its being shelved surfaced. Being the most affordable scooter of the company, Aprilia had a price tag of Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). The Storm 125 was based on the SR 125 which was the first performance oriented to be launched by Aprilia in India.

After the exit of Aprilia Strom 125, SR125 becomes the entry-level model of this Italian brand which has a price tag of Rs 1.21 lakh 90ex-showroom). With the same bodywork, the Strom 125 scooter had a more rugged design. Other details included ‘scratched’ graphics, compass decals, funky yellow, and red colors. Moreover, the scooter sported chunky dual-sport rubber to complete the look. It has a 125cc, three-valve motor that delivers 9.7 bhp and 9.6 Nm. Braking is done by drum at both ends while for suspension duties it has telescopic forks and a single spring at the rear.

Aprilia introduced the SR125 scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo and launched it soon thereafter. SR125 offers exclusive Blue and silver colour options. And also gets a longer seat which is 780 mm long and is finished in a single tone of black This one also comes with a grab belt over the seat for the pillion and a single piece raised grab rail at the rear which is more practical. It is available in white, blue, grey, and red colour options. Other details include a single-piece saddle, a bigger pillion grab rail, and carbon-fiber texture for the front fender, instrument cluster bracket, and the exhaust heatshield

The Aprilia SR 125 gets its power from a 124.45cc BS6 engine which delivers a power of 9.78 bhp and a torque of 9.7 Nm. With front disc and rear drum brakes, Aprilia SR 125 has a combined braking system for both wheels. The fuel capacity of this bike is 6 liters. with 115 kg of kerb weight, this scooter delivers a milage of 40 km/l. While the suspension is handled by telescopic front forks and a single spring at the rear. Aprilia Storm 125 and SR125 both have the same rivals but the recent updates of SR125 make it compete against Honda Grazia 125, TVS Ntorq 125, Yamaha Ray 125, and Suzuki Burgman 125.
