Unveiled in Hungary last year, a face lifted example of the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been snapped inside the company’s production facility in Gurugram, India. The image provides a little glimpse at the new headlamp cluster, a new toothy grille, and a new design for the alloy wheels.
As a whole, this new mid-life update to the S-Cross makes the front end look slightly different. Courtesy of a new, bigger, projector headlamp setup that also houses DRLs, a wider front grille finished in chrome and a few changes to the bumper. While the side profile will carry on untinkered, the rear tail lights get LED inserts and a slightly modified design, sitting above a new bumper.
The updated S-Cross will continue to be powered by 1.3 and 1.6-liter DDIS diesel engines. However, given the changing preferences of car buyers, a petrol engine could be offered too. Elsewhere, the S-Cross is offered with the 1.0-liter boosterjet engine that has recently made its debut in the Baleno RS and is available in three variants – Easy, Cool and Top. Standard equipment on the EASY variant includes manual air conditioning, multimedia system with CD + MP3 and USB radio, multi-function steering wheel and cruise control.
Levelling up, the COOL variant adds 17-inch, 5-spoke, silver coloured alloy wheels, LED headlamps, fog lights, a multimedia system with a 7-inch touch screen display, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and privacy glass. The range tops out with the TOP variant, that offers Radar Brake Support, Adaptive Cruise Control, 7-inch touch screen display with navigation, front and rear parking sensors, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, along with roof rails finished in satin.
