Speculations which indicate that the Britain Skoda Superb gets a new 1.6 litre TDI engine is spreading like fire across the internet media. The car earlier was powered by a 1.9 litre TDI engine. However, the power output remains the same i.e. 105 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. Since the engine now produces the same power with a smaller displacement, the car will now be more efficient and will be greener and cleaner. The 1.6 TDI CR version of the car is available in the UK with the five-speed manual gearbox and is priced at at £17,480 (12.64 lakh rupees approximately).
The Skoda Superb is available in three engine options in India – The 1.8 TSI manual transmission (Petrol), 1.8 TSI Automatic Transmission, 2.0 TDI CR Automatic Transmission (Diesel) and the 3.6 V6 FSI 4×4 Automatic Transmission. However, the Vento features a 1.6 TDI engine similar to the one which has been speculated.
