As part of its continued CSR initiative, Yamaha India inaugurated its Yamaha Training School (YTS) at the premises of Bosco Boys Welfare Society, Borivali West, one of the partner organizations of Don Bosco Development Society in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The training school aims to create a ‘Centre of Excellence’ where underprivileged youth will receive two-wheeler technical training that will enable them to become two-wheeler technicians later on in their life. Thereafter, they could be employed gainfully at Yamaha Dealerships to offer productive contributions to the society.

India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd is also poised to adopt Government/Private Technical Institutes and to partner with reputed NGOs across India to launch Yamaha Training Schools with Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) certification. Yamaha also plans to launch YTS at each Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) spread across India to encourage the economically weaker youth to master Yamaha technology and get employed at Company dealerships.

Technical experts from Yamaha Motor India Sales are conducting the YTS program on behalf of the Japanese company’s Indian subsidiary.

Speaking at the occasion, Masaki Asano, MD, Yamaha, said: “At present, there is a huge skills gap in the two wheeler industry which is fast expanding, on the other hand, a large number of unskilled youth are being pushed towards unemployment creating hindrance to the nation’s development. This partnership is meant to address this very concern by providing a platform to the economically weaker and unemployed youth to obtain a job oriented technical training in two-wheeler repair and servicing that meets industry standards. Upon successful completion of the course, the students will receive a certification by Yamaha Technical Academy that will help them gain suitable employment within the industry.”

Ravinder Singh, VP, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha was also present at the event and he said, “As an exclusive and trusted brand of our customers, we feel we must shoulder the responsibility to empower the economically weaker sections of the society especially, the youth. We have incorporated many programs in our annual calendar to help these young people to progress in life and become self-reliant. We signed a MoU with Bosco Boys Welfare Society, Borivali West, Mumbai in May 2015 to develop a synergetic partnership and thereby help deserving students find employment in the automobile sector via impartment of technical training and education. We certainly foresee recruitment opportunities for them at our own dealerships as this will help our dealers in getting quality trained manpower for their businesses.”
