- Maruti Celerio price could start at less than INR 4 lakhs
Few hours back, we reported that the Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT variant could have a price tag of INR 4.9 lakhs, which would make it the cheapest automatic car to be on sale in the country (CLICK HERE to read our earlier story). This revelation came from a report by the good folks at ACI. The same report says that Maruti Celerio price could be INR 3.9 lakhs.
It may be noted that while the high-end variants would be equipped with the much publicized Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), the entry level models will come with a conventional 5 speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Celerio will make its public debut at the fast approaching Auto Expo 2014 and will go on sale soon after. In our earlier report, we mentioned that the top end variants would be equipped with features and equipment such as electric mirrors steering mounted controls and a double-DIN system with Bluetooth connectivity. However, safely expect the entry level models, in typical Maruti fashion, to come with aircon, powersteering and front power windows only.
Powering the Maruti Celerio will be a 1.0 litre, three pot, K10 petrol engine that could have a max power of 69PS (versus 67PS for AStar), While the AM equipped variant has a claimed fuel mileage of 23.1 kmpl, the manual variants, in most likelihood, will have to do with a slightly lower fuel efficiency.
Bookings for Maruti Celerio are already underway and the dealerships would soon start receiving the test drive vehicles.
