New Bajaj Pulsar 220 colours released. Check them out!

Only a couple of days earlier, we reported that Bajaj has quietly introduced a set of new colour options for the Bajaj Pulsar 180. Now, thanks to these images on Bajaj Pulsar’s official Facebook page, we have got to learn that its not just the P180 that has got new paint options and even three new Bajaj Pulsar 220 colours have been introduced. These new Bajaj Pulsar 220 colours are the same as those for the P180 and have been named as following-

  • Sapphire Blue
  • Pearl Metallic white
  • Cocktail Wine Red

Akin to the 180cc engine variant, the Bajaj Pulsar 220 remains mechanically unchanged, which is a bit disappointing, especially if you consider that the 220 carb. model has remained essentially the same since the time it was launched. Also, with the upcoming 2014 Hero Karizma R facelift, competition is bound to become even fiercer for the aging 220cc bike, which now comes across as rather long in the tooth now. (CLICK HERE for 2014 Hero Karizma R facelift vs Bajaj Pulsar 220). Powering the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi is a single cylinder, 220cc, carburetted engine that has a max power of 21.05 PS and a peak torque of 19.1 Nm. While the 220 comes across as fairly powerful even in this day and age, it is ride dynamics where the old warhorse falters. The 220, which is based on the last gen Pulsar platform, is marred by issues like improper weight distribution and rather softly sprung front suspension. What makes it even worse for the P220 is the advent of the 200NS, which is fairly modern and makes the 220, the erstwhile flagship, look all the more dated. It will now be interesting to see if these Bajaj Pulsar 220 colours would be able to inject some freshness into the aging brand. So, which one of these do you like the most?

  1. Not a worthy upgrade
    Doom can be modified
still more color variants can be added….

  2. Instead of phasing out this bike, why not offer an optional ABS and a larger touring windshield for it. A bump in performance would be the icing on the cake. The P220F is still one the Best looking motorcycles available in the country today, its features are very practical for both touring and commuting. Its also the best selling Pulsar till date. Unfortunately, Bajaj has meted out a step-motherly treatment to this model by only offering cosmetic upgrades.

  3. Is it not the high time to phase out this bike?? Or maybe give a performance update to it.. Like increase its cc to 250.. Cause it's still a better looking bike than the 200 ns.
