In a new report that has surfaced online today, it is being said that the Maruti Celerio AMT waiting period has swelled so much that deliveries of this model would take place only next year! The rise in Maruti Celerio AMT waiting period is not just to the great demand but also due to inability of Magneti Marelli, Italy to supply AMT units. It may be noted that MSIL has only one supplier for the Celerio’s AMT unit.

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a 1.0 litre, three cyclinder, K10 petrol engine that has a max power of 67 bhp. This engine can be had with either a five speed manual gearbox and an automated manual transmission unit.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio was launched at the Auto Expo 2014 in February this year. The Celerio managed to clock almost 1000 bookings per month. While the car maker has earlier anticipated a 25-30% response for the AMT variant, it has emerged that demand for the AMT variant is as high as that for the manual variant, thereby leading demand overshooting supply by a considerable margin. It is being said that the local assembly of AMT unit will commence next year. This should help bring down the waiting period for the AMT variant.
