Hyundai Creta AT priced at INR 13.5 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai, official launch soon

Hyundai Creta (23)

While the 1.6-litre diesel version of the Creta was always equipped with a 6-speed auto transmission, the petrol version of the car has also been quietly equipped with the auto transmission now. While Hyundai hasn’t officially released any statement to this effect, the company’s showrooms have started taking bookings for the automatic variant, and apparently the waiting period is already swelling up. The AT equipped version for the SUV is priced at INR 13.48 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai. You can book the Creta petrol AT for INR 25,000 with an expected delivery time of about three month. The car would cost the Mumbai  INR 15.65 or thereabouts OTR. The dealerships are also quoting an additional amount of INR 8000, which we suspect is the deplorable handling  charge.

Initially, the Creta petrol AT will be available only in the SX+ trim level, though the company plans to introduce the automatic variant in lower trims also, based on the response.

The Hyundai Creta petrol comes equipped with a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine with a peak power output of 123 PS and peak torque rated at 154 Nm. The six-speed AT on the Creta has been lifted from the company’s Elantra sedan.

The Creta petrol AT comes across as a unique offering for the class, as no other model is offering the combination of a petrol engine with an automatic transmission in the segment. The Ford Ecosport with Powershift is an option, but resides in a lower segment in terms of price and size.
