Benelli launched one of its much awaited single-cylinder motorcycles, the TNT 25, in India today. The motorcycle will compete against the likes of the KTM 200 Duke, Honda CBR250R and the newest addition to the segment before the TNT 25, the thoroughly tested Mahindra Mojo.
The numbers look promising for the TNT 25 but can it dethrone, or at least reach the success that the KTM clocked in the Indian market? While DSK-Benelli may not have any particular competitor in mind, the company has high hopes from the motorcycle. The Indo-Italian duo plans to sell about 6,000-8,000 units of the TNT 25 in the Indian market over the next one year.
While we will have to wait for another year to find out how the motorcycle fare against its rivals in terms of sales, we find out how does it stack up against the competition on paper. Here is a detailed table of the technical specifications of the Benelli TNT 25 against the KTM 200 Duke, the Honda CBR250R and the Mahindra Mojo.

The performance numbers look promising and if you look-over the relatively hefty price tag over the competitors, the Benelli TNT 25 does come across as a potent competitor in the 200-250cc segment of motorcycles. The DSK-Benelli service network may not be as strong as the Bajaj backed KTM or Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India but these are the initial years for the brand in the sub-continent and we expect to see more service centres in the coming months.
