Yamaha has updated its middleweight line-up with the introduction of the new 2017 SCR950 Scrambler. The SCR950 comes equipped with low-profile bench seat, retro-racing side number plates, fork boots and bold color accents. The LED rear taillight adds to the stylish “neo-retro” appeal while the high-mounted turn signals improve visibility and boost the classic styling lines.

The motorcycle is built around a double-cradle frame and is aimed to offer sporty geometry for nimble, responsive handling. The front and rear suspension systems too are tuned to provide great comfort and handling while contributing to the machine’s stylish low profile. Upfront is a beefy 41mm fork while at the rear is a twin shocks — which include piggyback-style gas chambers. A 2-into-1 exhaust pipe with an upswept muffler offers improved ground clearance.

The motorcycle rides on strong aluminum rims and spoked wheels which are designed to handle harsh road conditions The rugged, block-pattern 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tires air claimed to provide an ideal balance of grip, durability and agile handling.

The new SCR950 draws power from a 942cc air-cooled SOHC 60° V-twin engine with four valves per cylinder. The engine comes mated to a five-speed transmission and a compact belt drive. Anchoring duties are provided by a 298mm disc brake upfront and 298mm at the rear, both equipped with wave rotors. The front brake uses a floating-mount for heat-distortion resistance.
