Yet again, media has managed to catch the upcoming facelifted Hyundai i20 on a test round near Hyundai’s Chennai plant. It sure is about time that the popular premium sedan gets a facelift. It may be noted that the elder sibling to the i10 was launched in India in December 2008 and we are not surprised that Hyundai is busy working on a mid-life facelift. Our good sources in the industry tell us that the i20 refresh should be launched towards the end March or in early April. The addition of the Hyundai’s new design language ‘Fluidic styling’ to the front fascia is very likely. This should give the car a ‘Vernaish’ and a family look . The bum should get a ‘re-visited’ set of tail lights and minor changes to the bumper.
Other than the changes in the exteriors, we expect the interiors to get a color upgrade.
Our sources say that the existing gasoline motor will soldier on, albeit, with the inclusion of VTT tech to for better efficiency.
