It’s no secret that the Yamaha YZF-R3 launch is right around the corner, but we came across a unit of this upcoming motorcycle on the Indian shores, equipped with one of the ugliest saree guards that we have seen till date. It appears that the saree guard on this particular unit of the Yamaha YZF-R3 has been installed incorrectly. The legendary saree guard, as it has in the past with many beautiful looking motorcycles, succeeds at totally decimating the looks of the YZF-R3 with its ungainly appearance. Even more so, in this particular case. We are sure most buyers will pluck the darn thing off the bike’s body as soon as they get its possession, but before they do that, the saree guard will continue to hurt the eyes of those who look at it.

Going by the shape of it, the ugly saree guard can occasionally double up as a barbecue grill, but the image confirms that Yamaha will indeed bring the YZF-R3, and not the YZF-R25, to the Indian market on August 11, 2015. The owner of the image and XBHPian “saquib3005” says that this image was snapped by one of his friends in Bangalore and the YZF-R3 will come equipped with MRF ZAPPER S 140/70-17 segment rubber at the rear. However, contrary to earlier reports, the forum member said that the YZF-R3 will be available with an optional ABS feature.
As reported earlier, the new Yamaha YZF-R3 will receive a newly developed 321cc inline two-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and a lightweight chassis. The 321cc engine on the YZF-R3 will deliver 42PS of power and 29.6Nm of torque and will come mated to a constant mesh, 6-speed transmission.
