VIDEO: Upcoming 2015 Bajaj Pulsar 200SS walk around
2015 Bajaj Pulsar 200SS walk around video from a launch event in Turkey. Read ahead for complete details.
In a far away land, the home-grown Bajaj Pulsar 200SS has already started grabbing eyeballs as the production ready motorcycles were spotted several times doing their final test runs. But this time, the homologated motorcycle has officially broke covers at an event in the Republic of Turkey and we got our hands on a walk-around video that gives the clearest details about this budget performance motorcycle. Here is what it looks like:
In terms of looks, the Pulsar 200SS will look familiar to the display model of its bigger sibling, the 400SS that was showcased at the Auto Expo but with a few cost cutting measures. The tyres for example, would remain similar to what are found on the naked roadster Pulsar 200NS instead of Metzeler rubber that was seen on the Pulsar 400SS. The illumination duties are taken care by the dual projector headlights that come with a pair of daytime running lights. The tail section features a two-piece floating LED tail lights at the rear. A short silencer is expected to give the motorcycle a better centre of gravity but we feel that an underbelly unit would have given the Pulsar 200SS a much cleaner look. The instrument cluster will be carried over from the Pulsar 200NS.
The engine, a 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled, carburetor employed unit producing 23.52 PS (23.18 bhp) at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm will also be shared with the Pulsar 200NS. However, it’s still not clear whether this upcoming Pulsar will benefit from fuel-injection or not. The Pulsar 200NS is available as a fuel-injected model in Turkey with a power output of 24.4PS, about 1PS higher than the current carburetor equipped Pulsar 200NS of India. So it won’t be incorrect to expect the same configuration to reflect on the Indian models.
