Just after IAB spotted the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 sedan, the good folks at Overdrive have clicked the upcoming Hyundai i10 based compact MPV. This car was also spotted near Chennai, where the Korean car maker has its manufacturing facility.
We had earlier reported when the upcoming Hyundai Compact MPV . The upcoming Hyundai MPV is identical to the Grand i10. Overdrive reports that the car makes use of regular doors and is smaller than the Ertiga. Overdrive reports that although they couldn’t click the frontal portion, it carries the familiar Hyundai family face with a large hexagonal grille.
Although there isn’t much information about the powertrain, Hyundai is expected to plonk the 1.4 liter four pot oil burner from the i20. The same engine is also used in the Hyundai Verna. More focus will be on this engine, but we expect the Korean car maker to employ a petrol engine too. Hyundai can use the same 1.2 liter Kappa2 petrol engine from the Grand i10 or the 1.4 liter petrol engine, which is used in the i20 automatic.
The MPV is expected to go on sale late 2014 and won’t be shown at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Pricing is expected to be in the range of 6 to 8 lakh INR.
