Traffic cop fines man driving a car for not wearing helmet!

Helmet awareness and women safety Rally with Akshay kumar in Mumbai (2)

Helmets are to be worn by everyone who rides a two-wheeler and that we all know. However, those of us who drive a four-wheeler don’t really need to be wearing one. Unless, of course, you are a stunt professional prepping for a huge leap in your souped up stunt car. It isn’t unheard of; Someone getting apprehended by the five-O (police) for not following the rules of the road. This time, it appears that a level-headed policeman in Meerut decided to stop and ticket a guy driving his car for not wearing a helmet. You heard that right. A certain Mr. Singh was stopped by a cop in the Hasanpur area of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

Bike rider = Helmet required. Car driver = Seatbelt required.

According to Singh, he had his 4 month-old son in the car and was taking him to a doctor. Now let’s have a look at the main points here;

1. Singh was ticketed for not wearing a HELMET while driving a CAR.

2. Singh’s 4 month-old baby was in the car, en-route to a doctor.

3. Singh had all the required documentation for driving his car.

All that said, it appears that someone made a crucial error in this whole debacle. The law enforcer states that Singh was caught talking on his mobile phone. This, he says, was the primary reason for charging Singh with the said “challan”. The cop admits that a ‘technical error’ was made by his colleague whilst issuing the ticket. Instead of ticketing Singh for talking on his phone whilst behind the wheel, his colleague issued the challan for something unrelated. Singh says that the whole incident is being blown out of proportion.

Everyone in a car should wear their seatbelts, not just the driver.

We reckon this incident is a prime example of human error and likely nothing ridiculous. However, it is a funny so and so. An incident that in most likelihood, is rare. Anyway, let us know what you thought about this funny/silly incident in the comment section.
