Simple Dot One e-Scooter Debuts at Rs 1.40 lakh

Simple Energy has introduced the Simple Dot One electric scooter, initially priced at Rs 1 lakh for pre-bookings made by Simple One customers. However, the final price for the Dot One post the introductory phase stands at Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Beginning January 27, interested buyers can secure their bookings by paying a token amount of Rs 1,947. Simple Energy prioritizes Simple One customers switching to the Dot One during the delivery process.

Simple Dot One: Power, Range & Battery Capacity

Regarding the Dot One’s specifications, it is powered by a 3.7kWh battery pack, offering a range of 151km on a single charge (160km based on the IDC test cycle). The scooter features a patented PMSM-type electric motor generating 8.5kW peak power and 72Nm torque, accelerating from 0-40kmph in a claimed 2.77 seconds, with a top speed of 105kmph. Additionally, Simple Energy provides a 750W charger with the Dot One.

In comparison, the Simple One boasts a 5kWh battery pack delivering an IDC range of 212km. Its electric motor produces 4.5kW (8.5kW at peak) and 72Nm torque, also reaching a top speed of 105kmph.

Simple Dot One: Looks & Features

The Dot One, a variant derived from the Simple One’s platform, is available in a singular variant and is offered in four color options: Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White, and Azure Blue. Equipped solely with a fixed battery, it delivers a 160km IDC range and comes with a 750W charger.

In terms of design, the Dot One inherits similarities from the Simple One but maintains its distinctiveness. It showcases a 7-inch touchscreen (1024×600 pixels) with customizable features and supports 4G and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, facilitating calls, music playback, and more on-the-go. Safety features include CBS (Combined Braking System), efficient disc brakes, a spacious 35-liter under-seat storage, IP67 ratings for the entire scooter, battery pack, and display, along with a 20° gradability.

The scooter offers four ride modes—Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic—allowing riders to personalize their experience as per their preferences. It has a kerb weight of 126 kg. The seat height stands at 796 mm, and a wheelbase of 1,335 mm, the Simple Dot One can accommodate diverse rider needs and preferences.
