The Mercedes-Benz A Class just got itself a new heart in India. In the new A 200 CDI guise, the Compact Luxury from Stuttgart now comes armed with the 2143 cc, four cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine from the B Class face-lift. Running mild power updates, the engine now produces 300 Nm of maximum torque @ 1600-3000 rpm and a maximum power of 134 bhp @ 3600-4400 rpm, as compared to 250 Nm @ 1400-2800 rpm and 107 bhp @ 3200-4400 rpm in the previous guise.
The MY ’15 A 180 Sport (petrol) is priced at INR 25.95 lakhs*, while the MY ’15 A200 CDI (diesel) costs INR 26.95 lakhs*. Mercedes-Benz is also offering a panoramic sunroof as standard on the MY ’15 A Class, apart from a newly designed set of 40.6 cms (R16) 5 twin spoke light alloy wheels (above). Unlike the B Class facelift, the A Class continues with its existing NTG (New Telematics Generation) multimedia system.
