Kawasaki India has unveiled the highly anticipated MY24 KX85 and KLX300R dirt bikes, bringing the thrill of off-road riding to enthusiasts across the country. These new models are packed with exciting features and performance enhancements, catering to both aspiring motocross racers and experienced trailblazers.
Kawasaki MY24 KX85
The KX85 sports a strong 84-cc single-cylinder, two-stroke engine coupled with a six-speed return gearbox and a Wet Multi-disc clutch. The brand has not yet disclosed the specific power and torque figures for this engine. The bike gets a 202-mm front and 150-mm rear disc setup which takes care of the braking duties.
Its tubular semi-double cradle frame supports the bike, with both front and rear suspensions offering 275 mm of travel. The front suspension includes a 36-mm inverted cartridge with adjustable compression damping, while the rear utilizes a Uni Trak system with fully adjustable KYB shocks. Sporting 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels fitted with Dunlop MX33 tires, renowned for their superior grip, slide control, impact absorption, and longevity. The bike’s adaptable riding position is achieved through six-position adjustable handlebar mounts and radiator shrouds, catering comfortably to various rider heights.
Kawasaki MY24 KLX300R
The KLX 300R comes powered by a 292-cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC single-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox, generating 29bhp at 8,000rpm and 26.5Nm at 7,000rpm. Its handlebar provides ERGO-FIT adjustability with a four-way customizable setup catering to diverse riders. Featuring an inverted fork and Uni Trak mono-shock offering 285mm of travel, the suspension delivers reliable performance. Embraced within a tubular, semi-double cradle chassis, the bike ensures structural integrity.
You’ll find push-button electric start as well as petal disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. The braking system comprises a 244mm petal disc up front and a 215mm petal disc at the back. With 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, the KLX 300R is equipped to handle varied terrains with ease.
Availability and Pricing
Both the Team Green dirt bikes will be available at Kawasaki dealerships across India as imported completely built units (CBU). The KX85 is priced at Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom), while the KLX300R is priced at Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Both motorcycles are offered in a single Lime Green colour.
