Honda to launch the VFR 1200F in India

Honda is all set to launch the VFR 1200F in India. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India will officially launch the bike in India at a function in New Delhi on the 2nd of August. The VFR has an impeccable reputation as one of the best touring street bikes in the world. The 1237cc engine on the bike produces 170 PS of power at 10000 rpm and 129Nm of torque at 8750 rpm. The kerb weight of the bike is 267Kg.
The VFR1200F comes with vacuum-moulded cast aluminium chassis. At the front, the bike features 43mm cartridge-type forks, while Pro-Link monoshock with gas-charged damper does duty at the rear. The bike has exquisitely crafted single-sided swing-arm and the final drive is through a shaft rather than chain. The shaft drive makes clear the fact that the VFR is a Sport Touring machine and not an out-an-out sports machine. Honda claim that the shaft drive of the VFR doesn’t have the typical back and forth pitch that’s characteristic of most shaft drive bikes.

The VFR comes equipped with electronic throttle control and Honda’s C-ABS anti-lock braking system. Internationally, the bike is available with two transmission options – A six speed manual transmission and a dual clutch auto transmission. We are not sure which of the two transmission systems is going to make it to India but the latter is definitely going to cost more if it does. We are not sure about the exact price of the bike, but its international price indicates an Indian price tag of around Rs 25 lakh. Stay tuned for more updates!
