One of the prominent 2-wheeler manufacturers, Honda, has launched the new Shine 125. With this update, the Shine 125 has received a slew of mechanical and cosmetic tweaks along with the addition of new features. The 2-wheeler maker has retailed the new Shine 125 from Rs. 79,800-83,800 Ex-showroom Delhi.
The Mechanical Tweaks in Honda Shine 125
Honda has updated the Shine with the new BS6 Phase-2 compliant petrol engine and updated OBD device. The new Shine is powered by a 125cc air-cooled petrol engine, making 10.59 hp of power and 11nm of torque output. The power is channeled to the rear wheel via a 5-speed transmission.
The new Honda Shine 125 features Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. This technology ensures more fuel combustion and minimized friction. Honda claims that this technology optimizes the energy output and ensures lower NVH levels of the engine.
Also, Honda has introduced the Idling Stop System which reduces emissions and minimizes fuel wastage by shutting off the engine automatically. The engine can be restarted by twisting the throttle.
Design and Aesthetics of Honda Shine 125
Like the SP 125, The Shine 125 also has a sleek and modern design that combines practicality with aesthetics. It features a body-colored cowl with a halogen headlight and a subtly designed fuel tank with edgy graphics. The side panels are designed to flow seamlessly with the tank.
Honda also offers chrome work on the headlight cowl, side panels, and muffler. This bike sits on sporty alloy wheels with tubeless tires. The rear gets the split to grab rail and a compact tail section with a halogen taillight. Moreover, the overall design of the bike is accentuated by the magnificent graphics. These elements result in a good-looking commuter bike pampered with utility.
Features and Utility of this Bike
The bike comes with a range of advanced features that adds to the convenience of the riders. The Honda Shine 125 features a basic and simple instrument cluster that provides the rider with all the necessary information while riding. This cluster displays the fuel gauge, speedo dials, indicators, etc. The bike boasts 163mm of ground clearance and 651mm of long seat along with a 1,285mm wheelbase.
The utility of this bike is further accentuated by the wider 100mm rear tire, a 5-step adjustable rear suspension, a seal chain, and the Combi-Brake System (CBS). Other features of this bike are the engine start/stop switch that serves a dual function, an integrated headlamp beam, and a passing switch, with an equalizer for greater comfort and convenience on every ride.
About pricing, variants, and color options
The updated version of the Honda Shine 125 is offered in two variants, namely the drum and the disc. Riders can choose the best color from five different color options: – Black, Geny Grey Metallic, Matte Axis Grey, Rebel Red Metallic, and Decent Blue Metallic.
