Honda Cars India is all set to launch the new City. The design of the new City has been revealed in the form of render images. From the looks of it, the Honda City is getting a mid-lifecycle update. It is not a full-blown generation update. Offline bookings for the new Honda City have been opened and the car will be launched on Mar 2.

What we know
By the looks of the leaked images, there is no major change to the design of the new City. What’s noticeable though is a redesigned grille with new mesh inserts. The bumpers too get some changes to the design. The cabin layout also seems unchanged. Besides this, the engine will be compliant with the new RDE norms. The diesel engine has been discontinued. The new City will now be available in Petrol and Petrol Hybrid fuel options.

What to Expect?
The New City can get some premium features to compete with rivals. The feature list could include wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, premium upholstery, etc. We could also see some ADAS features being introduced to the higher variants as Honda already uses the tech in the City Hybrid.
Speaking of the City Hybrid which is currently available on the top-spec City, Honda could shuffle the trims and introduce the Hybrid powertrain in a lower-spec trim as well.

With all the new additions, we also expect the prices to go up. Currently, the Honda City is priced between ₹11.87 lakh to ₹15.62 lakh and we could see an increment of ₹70,000 to ₹1,00,000 depending on the trim and powertrain.
Competition
The compact sedan space is slowly getting a lot of traction. The Skoda Kushaq and the VW Virtus are already getting good numbers in terms of sales. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz too got a recent update which will probably take a big piece of the pie. Not to mention, the Hyundai Verna is all set to be launched on Mar 21, just weeks after the new Honda City is launched.
