Last month, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) confirmed the CBR650F, its inline four cylinder sports tourer, for the Indian market in 2015. Yadvinder S Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India confirmed that Honda will set up a new, premium distribution format in 20 cities for the upcoming CBR 650F in India. The motorcycle was also spotted in production ready avatar, doing test runs at Buddh International Circuit with launch date rumoured around July 2015.
In latest development, reports suggest that the new CBR650F has already started rolling down the production line. However, Honda has limited the production of the motorcycle to one unit per day. The two-wheeler manufacturer will commence full fledged production once a fixed launch date is decided.
Guleria earlier said that the flagship model CBR 650F, is innovating by bringing a new premium distribution format in 20 top priority cities. He further added that 2015 will be a game changer year and Honda is all set to take the next leap.
Honda will assemble the CBR650F in India which will help the manufacturer save on import taxes and keep the prices competitive. However, Honda plans to sell the CBR650F at an estimated ex-showroom price of Rs 8 lakh which is slightly higher than what most of us expected. The Honda CBR650F will compete in the middleweight sports tourer motorcycle segment which is currently occupied by the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and the Benelli TNT600 GT.

Benelli is anyday a better option…Honda should have thought seriously about the price
I fully endorse the views expressed by Dr.D. So true………
I dont understand what Honda is thinking here.. benelli makes 82bhp inline four with a decent pricetag of around 6 L on road and they arent even produced here in India right now. How on earth have Honda managed to prive a same spec motorcycle manufacfured in India at 8 L ex showroom.. I was really looking forward to this motorcycle as my next upgrade but the price has tipped the scales in favour of Benelli now. Keep it at 1 motorcycle per day honda. Not gonna sell much at this price point.
