A familiar name could soon return to Hero MotoCorp’s Indian motorcycle range. The Mavrick 440 has been spotted in a new version carrying equipment that was earlier seen on its international counterpart. The test bike gets gold-finished USD front forks and a portrait-style TFT display.
The Mavrick 440 was taken off Hero’s Indian website after being discontinued. This latest sighting, however, suggests that the motorcycle could return with a more premium specification.
New equipment seen on the bike
The biggest changes are easy to notice. The motorcycle gets:
- Gold-finished USD front forks
- Portrait-style colour TFT instrument cluster
- Smartphone connectivity
- Turn-by-turn navigation
- Call and SMS alerts
- Mavrick 440 branding on the fuel tank
The TFT unit is similar to the display used on the Harley-Davidson X440. Hero had also shown a similar Mavrick-based motorcycle at EICMA 2024. Later, the same setup was seen in India during a TV commercial shoot wearing Hunk 440 branding for overseas markets.
This new motorcycle is different because it carries the Mavrick 440 name. That points towards an India-spec version rather than the export Hunk 440.
Engine details
There is no indication of a major mechanical change. The 440cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine is expected to continue.

The engine produces 27.36 bhp and 36 Nm, with the power sent through a six-speed gearbox. The assist and slipper clutch is also expected to be carried forward.
Could it be a new top variant?
Hero may offer the USD forks and TFT screen on a higher variant. There is also a chance that these features could become standard equipment across the Mavrick range.
Hero has used a similar approach with the Karizma XMR 210. Its higher variant initially received the USD forks and TFT display, before the equipment was offered more widely.
Pricing details are not available yet. The updated Mavrick 440 could cost slightly more than its earlier price after the latest tax changes.
Launch details
Hero has not announced an official launch date for the updated motorcycle. The fresh sighting does suggest that the Mavrick 440 could return to Indian dealerships with more equipment.
The motorcycle will continue to use the same basic engine package, but the new suspension and TFT display should give it a more premium feel.
