Grande Punto Facelift: Pictures and details

These are the pictures of the facelifted version of the Grande Punto that’ll make its first appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show. As expected, this is not a major design overhaul, only a minor facelift, but interesting enough for us to put it here.

On the design front, the bumper on the car is all-new. The front features a new split grille, also incorporating the air-dam. The position of the fog lamps is also new. Just like the front section the rear end too is different. The tail-lamps have been given a slight makeover, and the bumper too is new.

The car sports new design alloy wheels. And is now available in three new colours – Turquoise, Ruby Red and Graphite Grey. Inside the cabin the layout and the quality has changed. There is also a new dashboard. The seat fabric too has been changed with a new, better material.

The car features the highly acclaimed twinair 0.9 liter engine with 85 PS of peak power at 5500 rpm and 145Nm of peak torque between 200-3000 rpm. The engine is mated with a six speed gearbox. The 1.3 liter multijet diesel continues to do duty alongside its new petrol sibling.

A facelift for the Grande Punto is expected in India sometime in 2012. For all we know this would be the car we’ll get. Stay tuned for more follow up. In the meantime, do let us know what you think of the facelifted version?
