Tata Motors showcased the CNG version of the Altroz at Auto Expo 2023. Now, the company has commenced the bookings of the Altroz CNG. Additionally, Tata will introduce more updated models to its lineup in the future.

Booking details of Tata Altroz CNG
Tata unveiled the Altroz iCNG at the Auto Expo 2023 in January 2023. The premium hatchback received a tremendous response from the audience of the Indian market. As a result, Tata Motors has commenced the bookings of the Altroz CNG and it will be launched soon. The customers can now book the Altroz iCNG for a token amount of Rs. 21,000.
Tata Motors will commence the deliveries of Altroz CNG in May 2023. Tata Motors’ multi-powertrain strategy has proven successful with the introduction of the Altroz iCNG. It highlights brands’ commitment to providing customers with a diverse range of choices and options for their vehicles.
Brief details of Tata Altroz CNG
Tata Altroz CNG is a premium hatchback from the house of an Indian carmaker based on the ALFA platform. It features an excellent 5-star safety rating, sturdy build quality, and an attractive and premium design. The CNG version of Tata Altroz will be available in 4 variants: XE, XM+, XZ, and XZ+. But, the main highlight of the Altroz CNG will be India’s first twin-cylinder technology. The Altroz CNG uses 2 small cylinders each of 30litres accommodated beneath the boot enhancing the practicality of the car.
But, in real-life scenarios, the Altroz CNG can accommodate approx. 10-15kgs of the gas. Moreover, the car is brimmed with additional safety features such as thermal incident protection, gas leak detection feature, and micro switch. Unlike other cars, the Tata Altroz CNG will be brimmed with premium features such as leatherette seats, iRA-connected car technology, cruise control, Harman infotainment and sound system, automatic headlamps, etc.
Powertrain Options
The Tata Altroz is available with 3 engine options. The 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron engine makes 84hp and 113nm in petrol and 73hp and 103nm in CNG mode. This engine will be available with a 5-Speed Manual Transmission only. However, the petrol-only variants will get the option of DCA Automatic Transmission as well.
The more powerful 1.2L 3-cylinder i-turbo unit churns out 110hp and 140nm of output. And the punchy 1.5L 4-cylinder Revotorq diesel makes it the only diesel hatchback in India. This engine churns out 90ps of power and 200nm of torque in Altroz. Both the i-turbo and diesel engines are mated to a 5-Speed Manual Transmission only.
Pricing, Warranty, and Competition
The pricing of Tata Altroz CNG will be dearer than its petrol variants by a lakh depending on the variant. The Tata Altroz CNG boasts a standard warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km. It will continue to lock its horns with the Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
