It was the year 2011 when Lamborghini last used the Tricolore name on one of its cars. That car was the Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore. Now, after 15 years, the name has returned on a completely different Lamborghini.
The new car is the Temerario Tricolore, a one-off model shown at Monterey Car Week. It celebrates Italian design and also marks 20 years of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam personalisation programme.
A Very Different Temerario
The biggest talking point is the paint scheme. Lamborghini has used three main colours across the body, along with the Italian flag colours on the bonnet. The exterior gets:
- Blu Marinus Shiny on the lower body
- Bianco Monocerus on the upper section
- Nero Noctis on the roof, mirrors, wheels and engine cover
- Green, white and red stripes running across the bonnet
- Red brake calipers
- Special Tricolore detailing
The design is based on the regular Temerario, but this car has been given its own colour and material treatment.
The Cabin Gets Its Own Theme
The same idea continues inside the car. The cabin uses Nero Ade upholstery with Rosso Alala stitching. There are also:
- Tricolore lettering on the door panels
- Hexagonal patterns across the cabin
- A Temerario silhouette on the rear cabin trim
- Italian flag detailing on the steering wheel
- Bespoke materials selected through Ad Personam
This is not just a different paint option. Lamborghini has worked on the whole visual theme of this particular car.

Same Serious Performance
Under the special body treatment sits the Temerario’s hybrid powertrain. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 works with three electric motors and produces 920hp in total.
The engine can rev up to 10,000rpm. Power goes through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Lamborghini claims:
- 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds
- Top speed above 340km/h
- Three electric motors
- 3.8kWh battery pack
So, despite the special styling, this is still a very serious performance machine.
Why The Tricolore Name Matters
The Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore used the Italian flag colours back in 2011. The new Temerario brings that idea into Lamborghini’s latest hybrid era.
The car also celebrates two decades of Ad Personam, Lamborghini’s programme for creating highly personalised cars.
There will be just one Temerario Tricolore. It is a special design project rather than a new performance variant for the Temerario range.
