Royal Enfield GT Cup 2025: Bigger Grid, Bolder Dreams

Quick Overview

  • Royal Enfield GT Cup 2025 expands to 8 cities with zonal selections
  • Over 64 amateur and 50 pro riders to race the identical Continental GT-R650s
  • Final races to begin in August and conclude in November across three rounds

After a thundering Season ‘24, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup is back with more rubber-burning ambition for 2025. What started as a small step towards grassroots racing has now shifted gears — and this time, it’s taking eight cities along for the ride.

Selections

The ‘Street to Track’ vision continues with zonal selections in Guwahati, Noida, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai. Any Indian rider with a valid driving licence can now take a shot at glory — no need for a racing pedigree or overflowing sponsor list.

Participants get two full days on the track during these selections. Day one is for training under the Royal Enfield Track School’s expert trainers, and day two is a timed selection showdown. Think of it as a weekend crash course in becoming the next knee-dragging superstar.

The format sticks to the successful Pro-Am setup. That means newbies and seasoned racers will share the grid. Also returning is the ‘Twin Power Trophy’—where each pro is paired with an amateur, blending mentorship with mayhem. Expect camaraderie and close calls.

The tools

The machines? The iconic Continental GT-R650s, all race-prepped and identical, to make sure it’s rider skill — not the wallet — that leads the lap charts. First launched in 2021, this series keeps things raw and real. No electronic rider aids, no flashy gimmicks. Just café racer charm with track teeth.

Competition? Well, while most OEMs in India still shy away from one-make racing for amateurs, Royal Enfield’s approach puts it miles ahead. Others like TVS and Honda have their factory-backed race series, but entry-level accessibility is where RE wins hearts.

Final selections happen at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, from July 3–6. Post that, the GT Cup fires up for a four-month blitzkrieg from August to November.

Final Thoughts

There’s something endearing about watching a bunch of road riders slowly turn into corner-carving maniacs. The Royal Enfield GT Cup isn’t just a race series — it’s like a wild summer camp where you get tanned, bruised, mentored, and maybe, just maybe, fast enough to podium. So if your throttle hand’s twitching and your knee sliders are itching, this could be your ticket from weekend warrior to paddock poser.
