Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has once again retained its crown as India’s leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer. With a 37.3% market share in the L5 segment, the company continues to drive EV adoption despite rising competition.

Sales Milestones and New Launches

Mahindra has achieved two major milestones this year:

  • Over 2 lakh commercial EVs sold, a first in the industry.
  • Treo surpasses 1 lakh unit sales, making it India’s best-selling electric auto.

To strengthen its lineup, MLMML introduced the Treo with a metal body for enhanced durability and launched its first-ever four-wheeler electric commercial SCV—the Mahindra ZEO. The ZEO, designed for urban cargo transport, marks Mahindra’s entry into the 4W commercial EV segment, expanding its footprint beyond three-wheelers.

Competition and Market Trends

While Mahindra leads the charge, competition in the L5 electric category is heating up. Brands like Piaggio Ape E-City, Bajaj RE Electric, and Omega Seiki Mobility Rage+ are ramping up their presence. However, Mahindra’s early-mover advantage and established dealership network continue to work in its favor.

The growing adoption of electric three-wheelers for last-mile deliveries and passenger transport is a promising sign for the segment. With increasing government incentives and fleet electrification, penetration is expected to rise further in the coming years.

Final thoughts

Mahindra is proving that when it comes to electric commercial vehicles, they aren’t just playing the game—they’re setting the rules. From dominating the three-wheeler space to stepping into four-wheeled cargo EVs, MLMML is on a charge. With competition catching up, it’ll be interesting to see how the battle for the No.1 spot unfolds in the years ahead.
