About Hyundai and Healthy seas marine protection
Both the Hyundai and Healthy Seas have commenced marine environmental protection activities in Tossa de Mar, Spain. The 8 volunteer divers from different teams like Ghost Diving Spain and Ghost Diving Netherlands have participated in this initiative. The aim of the diver’s involvement was to remove a large net covering a reef in the boundaries of the marine protected area.
The grill nets are lighter in weight yet they are a dangerous form of marine waste. This initiative has rescued plenty of microorganisms from the grill net. Moreover, the divers have removed the Trammel nets, a broken crab pot, and many meters of long lines. Apart from marine, the volunteers have also cut off the lead and ropes and classified the debris. The grill net will be recycled for the manufacturing of nylon-resourced parts and regeneration.
The Future plans of this partnership
As the partnership between Hyundai and Healthy Seas enters a new phase, their efforts will expand on a global level. With a shared vision of creating a more sustainable future, these partners will minimize marine pollution on a worldwide scale. Moreover, it will grow the sustainable marine ecosystems, and advocate for a circular economy.
The ambitious plans of this collaboration include organizing four clean-up events and implementing various educational initiatives. Hyundai and Healthy Seas aim to preserve our oceans and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
