Bajaj has launched the new Pulsar N160 at ₹1.23 lakh for the single-channel ABS version and ₹1.28 lakh for the dual-channel ABS version. The Pulsar N160 rivals the likes of the Yamaha FZ, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Suzuki Gixxer. Notably, the Pulsar N160 is the first bike in its segment to feature dual-channel ABS.

What’s new?
In terms of design, the Pulsar N160 is very similar to its elder sibling, the Pulsar N250. It features a bi-functional LED projector headlamp unpfront which is flanked by slim LED DRLs on either side. Other design elements such as the fuel tank, split seat, alloy wheels and the taillamps are carried over from the Pulsar N250. One design element which is unique to the Pulsar N160 is the underbelly exhaust.

In terms of color choices, the single-channel ABS version gets the option of Carribean Blue, Racing Red and Techno Grey whereas the dual-channel ABS version comes exclsuively with the Brooklyn Black shade. The Pulsar N160 is equipped with a digi-analogue instrument cluster that displays gear position, clock, fuel economy and range. The new Pulsar N160 is powered by a 164.82cc, 2-valve, oil-cooled, single cylinder engine that produces 16hp at 8,750rpm and 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of mechanicals, the bike gets 17-inch wheels wrapped in 100/80-17 tyre in the front and a 130/70-17 tyre at the rear. Suspension duties are taken care of by a 37mm telescopic fork in the front and a Nitrox mono shock at the rear. Dual-channel ABS equipped versions get a 300mm disc in the front whereas single-channel equipped versions get a 280mm disc at the front. The rear disc brakes are similar in both the versions at 230mm. The single channel ABS version weighs in at 152kgs whereas the dual channel ABS version weighs 154kgs. The fuel tank capacity is 14 litres.
