Morgan hogged the spotlight at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance by virtue of unveiling its upcomming luxury saloon christened Eva GT. The Eva GT is a breathtakingly beautiful luxury grand tourer with the capacity to seat four individuals in supreme comfort and also gobble up their luggage. This out-of-the-box design philosophy of the Eva GT, shall mark a new achievement for Morgan as it will utilize the manufacturer’s unique aluminium chassis and body technologies. The Eva GT is expected to enter into production stage in 2012.

Charles Morgan, Managing Director of the British based Morgan Motor Company, has told Autocar, that the Morgan Eva GT is intended to be capable for serving as an everyday family transport as well as a luxury GT. He declined to comment on the likely price for the car and said that it will depend on the customer demand but will be cheaper than the Supersports. Thus one can safely estimate it to retail for around £70,000-£85,000. Morgan has already started accepting deposits from prospective buyers for the Eva GT.

As of now, Morgan intends to power the Eva GT by sourcing BMW’s 3.0 liter turbo charged straight-six petrol engine. With the engine developing a max power output of 306bhp and max torque of 400Nm, on-road performance shall be more than adequate. Also, the aluminium body and frame construction is expected to limit the car’s weight to around 1200 odd kilos. This will arm the Morgan Eva GT with a top speed of around 170 mph (270kmph) and an overall mileage of 40mpg.
