Come 2014 and Volkswagen India will introduce the all new Polo hatchback in our market. The car will come with a 1.5 litre TDI engine option that VW has recently developed.
The next gen Polo is based on the much publicized MQB platform and the new motor pumps out 95 Bhp-250 Nm. Comparing this to the current car’s 1.2 Liter, 3 pot TDI, the upcoming motor pumps out 23 horses more than the old engine’s 72 Bhp max power output. Also, safely expect the new engine to be considerable quieter than the current 3 pot motor. It may be noted that 3 pot motors are inherently higher on NVH levels.
Volkswagen India will also soon launch the automatic variant of Polo petrol and thus, will join the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ritz who offer an auto box.
